Global Warming Myths, Lies Shot Down By Marc Morano.
Venal Politicians, Academics, Journalists Prolonged This Canard.

I’ve almost grown immune to the dishonest misreporting about global warming led by the incorrigible BBC, but Marc Morano’s magnificent new book, “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change”, has set me off again.
My blood pressure doctors won’t thank me, but Morano has rekindled my zeal to bring the truth to the public’s attention.
The panic over humans destroying the planet from generating too much carbon dioxide is an unproven myth. But the elites have grabbed it as a special rationale to back their view that they know best and big government must be obeyed. It’s for our own, dumb good. The fact that this canard has survived for so long shows that most politicians and many academics and journalists value their careers above telling the truth. That is a shameful fact of western democracy.
Global temperatures have always fluctuated, but the long term trend since the ice age ended about 10,000 years ago has seen a gradual increase. The most likely cause of this is the impact of the sun, which also waxes and wanes in power in a way we don’t yet fully understand. The way in which politicians and corrupt scientists manipulated data to prove their point is a shameful episode. Unscrupulous bullying and career destruction was made all the worse by a supine media too cowardly or lazy or dumb to stick with the story and demand proof.
Leftist politicians, led latterly by Barack Obama, seized on the issue of global warming as a way to influence public opinion after they lost all the economic arguments in the latter half of the 20th century. If indeed the world’s climate was being destroyed by unfettered human economic activity, that would allow the left to counter the notion that maximum freedom not only was best for human minds, but boosted economic wealth. The need to allow big government more and more control to save us from ourselves was the perfect mantra for one-world lefties. No wonder they are like a dog with a bone determined to allow no arguments. Anyone with contrary views was dismissed as a “denier”.

I first became aware of this issue in the 1990s, when I was Science and Technology Correspondent for Reuters. Soon after taking up the job, I had to address the issue because the mainstream media, led by the BBC of course, was telling me that mans’ energy and transport actions were spewing a dangerous amount of CO2 which was heating the planet, leading to a melting of the ice-caps. This would also mean rising sea levels would eventually flood coastal cities and destroy some island communities. We were all going to die, and it was our fault.
I began my research for my global warming story. Because I could say “this is Neil Winton from Reuters” I had access to the world’s top scientists. To my amazement, finding somebody who would say – “yes, there is a proven and direct link between excess human production of CO2 and rising temperatures” proved impossible.
There were some who said this was a likely link, but that was as strong as it got. When you look at the projections provided by the likes of the U.N.s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) it is based on computer modelling which actually means much of its data is based on assumptions, not proven data. There is no proof. It’s all theory.
Marc Morano and his Climate Depot web site has been a long-term and brave critic of the global warming, we are all guilty, theory. In his terrific new book he has great pleasure in destroying some of the warmist’s favourite myths (lies), like the “97% of scientists all agree”, and there is a scientific consensus. The 97% figure has been endlessly touted by Obama, former secretary of state John Kerry and former vice-president Al Gore. Morano quotes U.N. IPCC lead author Richard Tol to shoot down the 97% idea. Science depends on proof, not consensus.
97% not credible
“This 97% is essentially pulled from thin air, it is not based on any credible research whatsoever,” Tol said in an article in EnergyPolicy debunking the claim.
In the search for a rationale to explain the warmist’s zeal, Morano quotes GreenPeace co-founder Patrick Moore, who has since jumped ship.
“It is a powerful convergence of interests among a very large number of elites, including politicians who want to make it seem as though they’re saving the world, environmentalists who want to raise money and get control over very large issues like our entire energy policy, media, for sensationalism, Universities and professors for grants. You can hardly get a science grant these days without saying it has something to with climate change,” Moore said.
And then there was Climategate, which occurred long after I’d moved on from my Reuters SciTech job. Leading warmist scientists from the IPCC were caught fiddling the data which purportedly cemented the link with human activity. These “scientists”, as shown in many email exchanges, were artificially manufacturing the data which led to the “scientific consensus”.
“I view Climategate as science fraud, pure and simple,” said Princeton physicist Robert Austin, according to Morano.
Corrupt or lazy?
This episode showed such egregious, blatant lying and manipulation of data said to prove the climate change link with human activity you would think warmists would have died of shame. But through corruption or laziness, this issue was soon forgotten by the media.
After proving beyond doubt that the warmist movement is rotten from top to toe, Morano says this.
“By virtually every measure – from global temperatures and climate model predictions to polar bears, sea level rise, and extreme weather events – the scientific claims of the global warming movement are falling short or the science is actually going in the opposite direction. The fears that rising levels of carbon dioxide are a major threat facing humanity do not hold up to scientific scrutiny. The geologic history of the Earth demonstrates that carbon dioxide is drowned out by many, many other variables in our earth’s climate system. Carbon dioxide is not the control knob of the climate.”

“And the alleged scientific consensus is merely an illusion carefully crafted by a partisan campaign to promote global warming fears and this so-called solution. The ClimateGate scandal revealed that the upper echelons of U.N. scientists were colluding to craft a man-made global warming narrative, suppress scientists and studies, and threaten journal editors that did not support the party line of the climate movement. An increasing number of prestigious scientists from around the world are re-examining the evidence, publicly declaring themselves sceptical, and rejecting the claims put forth by the United Nations, Al Gore, and climate activists and hyped by the mainstream media.”
Creates poverty
Morano said the U.N.’s motive was to redistribute wealth in favour of the poor, but climate change policy, by stopping the poverty stricken from using cheap fossil fuel, is actually condemning them to poverty forever. Climate change activists want to control the world economy, redistribute wealth by manipulating science and using trickery to create a “consensus”.
“It’s up to the rest of us to save the planet from them,” Morano said.
Read this book, them bombard the BBC when it next reports on global warming/climate change, as though there is only one view worth reporting. Demand balance. The truth will out.
